Bang Olufsen & Balenciaga
Product/Retail DesignThis is a cross-disciplinary design project that brings together the sound craftsmanship of Bang & Olufsen with the bold visual language of Balenciaga. I created a hybrid product — sunglasses fused with high-end headphones, and extended the concept into an immersive retail pop-up space. From product design to physical experience, this project explores how identity can be worn, heard, and felt.
The main product is a head-mounted device that combines Balenciaga’s iconic oversized sunglasses with B&O’s audio engineering. It features interchangeable lenses and earcup styles, allowing users to match their look and mood.
The design is genderless, sculptural, and expressive — made to be worn as both accessory and statement.Inspired by instrument cases, the packaging takes the form of a metal guitar case, wrapped in Balenciaga-style graffiti paper. Inside, the product is modular — each component carefully positioned like a musical tool. The packaging isn’t just protection — it’s part of the product story.
The retail space was designed as a circular, enclosed pop-up, built with mirror chrome surfaces, matte black walls, and sculptural furniture.
At the center, a visor-shaped sofa and headphone-inspired coffee table echo the product’s form.
Interactive QR-code panels designed as mini vinyl album covers allow visitors to listen to exclusive soundtracks, creating a multi-sensory experience.
Every element — from lighting to layout — was designed to turn the retail into a performance space.
This project blends physical product, brand identity, and spatial storytelling.
It pushes the boundary between technology, fashion, and experience, and reimagines how people connect with sound.
